Nichole LaFond

Nichole LaFond is based in Galena, Illinois. She holds a degree in biology and has trained in scientific illustration and data visualization. After more than 30 years as a laboratory scientist—work rooted in precision and accuracy—she now embraces an artistic practice that uses abstraction. Working in watercolor, acrylic, or mixed media, she draws daily inspiration from the rolling landscape of the driftless area and the rich variety of flora and fauna that call it home.
